After the bombing, many agencies including Emergency Medical Services Authority, the Air Force, Civil Air Patrol, and American Red Cross stepped in to lend a hand to the injured and families of the bombing victims. Within the hour, over 50 people were found from the collasped Murrah building and send out to nearby hospitals. Americans along with other nations responded by helping rescue workers with large amount of donated goods like water and tools. President Clinton ordered a federal emercency and spoke to the nation of the tragic event, saying " The bombing in Oklahoma City was an attack on innocent children and defenseless citizens. It was an act of cowardice, and it was evil. The United States will not tolerate it. And I will not allow the people of this country to be intimidated by evil cowards. I have met with our team which we assembled to deal with this bombing, and I have determined to take the following steps to assure the strongest response to this situation."
